I don't expect to make it consistent with reality, I even made a
point at one...point, to say reality or fantasy. I mean "usual"
fantasy. Just does seem like an archaic method of separating "to
hit" from "how hard you hit"
This is a mud. This is an old mud. It IS archaic. I love it for that :)

I do however, see why being trained in one would mandate being
trained in the other.
I sadly can't break down the thought processes (or am too lazy),
they two things just go hand in hand in my mind. If I'm a master of
the weaponX, I damn straight can hit you with weaponX.
Our system has worked for years, and I see no reason to change it. I
just think that difference is the root of this "issue", and that
it's not just "whine whine, necro gets one skill but no other skill
to support it".
I wouldn't respect anybody who called them selves a master of
nunchucku (what I imagine 100% to be) but couldn't hit me in the
face more often than not when they tried.
Also, ouch.

Yes, we're trying to get the point that since every necro has lived
the whole necro life without attack, the necro has worked fine for
so long, we do not see why we need to change anything now :)

So then put them on even terms with the other arcane casting guilds when it comes to personal combat abilities and take it away all together. Evoker's get no combat/weapon oriented skills, nor do elementalists or psychics or abjurer's or or or... I find it a pretty far stretch saying that having all that extra physical damage being done with your necro staff is going to amount to jack diddly squat compared to what one's minions wind up dishing out. The only people who -really- benefit might be newbie necromancer's, and to say those are few and far inbetween is putting it mildly (plus with all the drags/partying they usually aren't "newbie" for long...).

In regards to weaver getting attack that's a bit of a moot point seeing as how you have the wonderful guild known as TEMPLAR where you gain more combat and weapon oriented skills. Even druid to a lesser extent gets a little more combat oriented with their staff via soil shaman... I don't think it's unreasonable to think of these as already being somewhat more militant than a necromancer who sits back lettings his minions do all the work outside of spamming triggers and watching for area damage.

So much of this is in the same ball bark as saying that "woodsman should get the light and darkness spell, because after all bards and lurker's and the other caster guilds get it!" when aside from -one- perk as a "dark" race it doesn't really do a whole hell of a lot.

All that 3/4 of this sounds like to me is more whinebitchmoaning to make necro stronger even if it's only the slightest little thing... Realistically, do they -really- need it? (personal desire to solo everything being set aside please and thank you!).
