Sponsor Position - special
Your 468x60 banner will be the SOLE one shown in this position,
which is at the center of all 5 ranking pages. Next, a link to your
web site will appear at the top of every MUD database section.
Lastly, this package also adds your banner to the normal rotation on
top, and you get an icon of your choosing that will appear next to
your site on the ranking list. The sponsorship package goes to the
highest bidder, and if there are no other bidders, the cost is $100
per month. It will only go up for bid upon completion of the
previous campaign, whether it be 1 month or 6 months.

Im puttin up $100 to try and get this up and going. I want to see if
we cant come up with enough money for a 6 month ad.
Please help get this up and going. My best friend got me playing
this game. As many times as I saw him playing it and told him it
looked pretty stupid he finally talk me into it. Ive been on here
since 2002. He also passed away while I was out of state and this is
all I have left of him. I know the players here have different
reasons for playing but the bottom line is we all love this game.
Please dont let it dwindle down to nothing.
Im sure plenty of other people would too if only they knew it about it.
So I guess mudmail me if you are interested in donating and then
when we have a reasonable amount of willing players, then we can
figure out who we all trust to make it happen. Thanks

While I don't really play games much enymore due to lack of time, I
do agree with that sentiment. That said, if we want more people to
play this game and recommend it to their friends, we as a playerbase
have to be more friendly and inviting to those new players we do get.
I've heard plenty of stories over the years from players who were
new to this mud about how the hardest part of IoM is finding someone
friendly to play with, and frankly that's part of why I moved on to
other games as well.

In short: Getting new players is all fine and good, but it's
meaningless if the community just turns them away from the game.
Just some food for thought.

Whilst I don't disagree the shrinking player base is an issue.

The thing that will be the death of this MUD (imo) is the shrinking wizard base. One day we will have a fatal error/bug & there wont be anyone to fix it. Please appreciate your admin staff as without them there will be no IOM far sooner than players all leaving.
