Harp
wood Xylophone
(carribean) steel drums

I actually, in one of my many occupations, tune steel pans, and let
me tell you, no player in their right minds would take an instrument
into battle.

Two reasons: First they player would be worried about knocking them
out of tune (They're surprisingly delicate, I figure that for every
hour they're played, or every ten minutes they're in a moving
vehicle. I need to spend about a minute per pan retuning.)

Second, and much more importantly, the player's tuner would fucking kill them.

Sorry, I know that reality has nothing much to do with this, but
your post was absurd anyhow, so I figured it was okay.

Also didgeridoos are possibly the most unmusical musical instrument
in creation. A bard who plays one of those deserves to be killed by
his own party.

A valid argument, except that it applies equally to all other
instrument types bard currently has access to. Whether one would do
it in real life is not really a meaningful point in this argument
however, as this is a MUD, and on this MUD bards do take their
instruments into battle.

Your inability to appreciate the sound of a digeridoo does not
prevent anyone who can from enjoying them.

Actually the didgeridoo's inability to be appreciated does not
prevent people from playing them.
