| Well that's fine to discover special properties of an item, but the statistics viewable by removing and wearing and item with the stats command, plus the player databases, it's just pointless. Why not make that small step foward to include stats in the item desc like virtually every other mud and game i've played. It's such a popular idea because players love to upgrade equipment and need to compare items frequently. Especially newer players like myself that don't know "EQ" very well, or who don't get to play in EQ parties for whatever reason (small worth or solo friendly guild needed for play style) |

| first off, we do not control player sites. at all. if someone decides to make a site that lists eq stats, that's nice for you, but it's not something that we are doing for you, it's not under the control of the coders or the mud in general. second, we do not ned to be like every other mud. third, you don't need to compare equipment that often, even as a small player. fourth, you can't see all stats through the wearing and removing of equipment. if you can wear it to see stats, then bully for you. however, sometimes you do need an id. in those situations, you need someone who can see the full details through magic. and honestly, i can think of at least one or two items that if you just wore them without getting the id first, you would probably regret it, so the fact that you can wear an item to see the stats does not mean that it's the best way to go.
since there is a player site with the stats and stuff, i don't see why you are demanding that we add it to the item description. it will not be done, because we have spells that are made for it, and we LIKE that it is at least a little difficult to find the special information and the couple of stats that don't show up just fromw earing it. we could make it all easy, or we could let you work for it a bit. guess which we choose. |

| Not to mention that there is an NPC in the game that will ID items for you at a relatively small fee. Can you (in real life) just look at two knives side by side and see that the one on the left will cut 2x easier than the one on the right? Not usually they look pretty much like metal blades and until they are tried out remain to seem the same.
WBM to open, I've said my peace. |
