| Just a thought but I understand the hard work that went into certain events around here, namely the destruction of old RDC in particular.
Not everyone was here for it, though I'm sure for those who were it was quite memorable - and I haven't had a bad response to the idea of re-running it each year as a way of both allowing that coding effort to be appreciated again, and also to give the mud a way to remember what was no small bit of our mud's history here.
Obviously re-instituting the code so that it would run each year is not a simple thing either, but I've no doubt a few would try to lend a hand to make that happen if it seemed like a good idea. |

Let me say, as one of the main authors of this event, I really dislike this idea.
One of the main points to me was that it was a one-time thing. So much in this (and any other) mud is very repetitive. What I really liked about it, and what got me to put so much time into it (besides being out of a job at the time :-) was that it was so different in that way - that it would happen, once, and never be repeated.
We did make every effort to give people enough warning to make sure people wouldn't miss it (god, I miss Koma sometimes).
But to repeat it would, to me, miss the entire point of the exercise.
