I think we've chatted about this before, but I don't remember what was said so I'll be talking about it again! Earlier someone made a suggestion I think is a good one:

Mist mages (Nether mages) should be able to do something with the mist spells (Blue, yellow, etc) when they're cast by mobs. One choice is allowing nether mages to cast through the mist (Lets face it, you've been studying these mists but you can't thwart them at all? Seems a little unfair), the second is to allow mist mages to absorb/get rid of the mist somehow. Now, I'm not saying they should be able to rid the mist without any consequences, maybe by absorbing the mist the mage is unable to cast for x amount of time or receives x amount of damage to hp/sp or receives x amount of nerf to their main stats. Regardless of which we go with I still think the point stands that mist mages should have -some- ability to deal with mist spells.

Thanks, leave your comments/arguments below. I'd say keep the flames to yourself but that'll do no good :).

Hmm I wasn't consistent with which guild this spell should be in: While there is definitely room to argue inbetween the lines I'd say it depends on what the spell does. If it's simple resistance to the effects of the mist then mist mages should get it. If it's the ability to get rid of it altogether then maybe it should be in nether mage. Just to clarify from be mentioning one guild and then the other in the last post.

My opinion is that you should be able to cast through yellow mist as a mist mage. This would depend primarily on your skill in mastery of air/water, mist lore, and mastery of elements (primarily mist lore.) As well as the strength of the mist - how highly yellow mist and mist lore have been trained by the monster casting it

I simply find it a bit unbelievable that I'm a highly trained mist mage, and yet some random monster who knows no other mist spells, barely knows mist lore at all, and probably needs to cast the spell twice before he gets it off successfully, can conjure up a mist that I am unable to deal with.

Actually, since mist mages pwn all things mist then the spell that is supposed to prevent spell casting should prevent it, regardless of assumed knowledge about mist.
