Templar guild members are taught the physical skills needed to battle the unholy forces of evil. They master the basic arts of physical combat and how to attack multiple times. They also learn spells to grant their weapons and shield with holy blessings of protection, as well as their faith and mind. Templars also learn the basic art involved in shield defense.

The more people being protected, the more training this takes. Obviously, different guilds gain different techniques, and thus they are not all equally efficient. Warrior, being the biggest and baddest tanks, are, of course, unrivaled in their abilities. Please note that in the case of shapeshifters, ursine forms can make use of the training in a 'normal' way, whereas canine forms tank better the more of them that there are. Other shapeshifter forms do not have the ability to tank at all. Also note that necromancer familiars do need this skill to properly tank as well.
